My Vintage Camera Collection... So Far...

I have been slowly collecting vintage cameras for a little over a few years now.  I decided to take some photos of them and display what I have...  I hope to keep adding to my collection!

Canon AE-1 Program
Lens: 50mm 1: 1.8
I received this from my Dad in High School.  I was starting my first photo class and needed an SLR camera!  He used this as a teenager and handed it down to me.  I've gotta say it is the most important camera I have in my collection and probably always will be!
The Canon AE-1 Program was produced around 1981.  Here is some info on the camera!

Kodak Hawkeye Brownie (Flash Model)
I received this one from my Aunt a few months back.  She had a couple of old cameras she never used and figured I would like them!  She was right!
The Hawkeye Brownie was produced between 1950-61.  Here is some info on the camera!

Argus 75
Lens: Lumar 75mm
I also received this one from my Aunt.
The Argus 75 was produced between 1958 & 1964.  Here is some info on the camera!

Polaroid Land Camera 360
I found this one at a thrift store.  I believe I got it for around $5.  I love going into thrift stores and going through the boxes of old cameras and coming out with something like this!
The 360 was produced from 1969-1971.  Here is some info on the camera!

Pho-Tak Foldex 20
Lens: 86mm meniscus Octar
This one, I believe, was a gift from my Dad & Step-Mom.  Its a really cool find but unfortunately its really rusted!  Don't think its usable!  But a great addition to my collection!
The Foldex 20 was produced from 1950-1953.  Here is some info on the camera!

Polaroid Colorpack III
This one was ALSO a thrift store find!  Only a few bucks!  And I believe it is in working condition!  I would really like to try some of these cameras out but it involves finding the film!  I have looked and some of it gets pretty pricey!  Hope I can try it out one day!
The Colorpack III was produced from 1970-1971.  Here is some info on the camera!

Wirgin Edina (aka Edixa)
Lens: Edinar 1/2.8-43
ALSO another thrift store find!  I believe I payed closer to $15 for this one.  Not sure though!  But it is a German camera... Its pretty neat.... Looks to be in great shape and very clean on the inside!  I tried it after I bought it... the photos weren't the best, but it just needed a little extra cleaning and I think some adjusting of the lens since the photos weren't very focused.
The Edina was produced in 1952.  Here is some info on the camera!

Kodak Six-16 Brownie Junior Box Camera
One of my first finds from a Thrift Store!  Very old box camera.
The Brownie Junior was first produced in 1934.  Here is some info on the camera!

Kodak Dakar No. 1
Lens: Kodak Anastigmat f 6.3 128mm
Chris got me this one in Reno, NV at a thrift shop.  Cost him like $3!  Seems to be in great shape still!
The Dakar No. 1 was produced from 1932-1936.  Here is some info on the camera!

Kodak Brownie Reflex - Synchro Model
I bought this camera today at an antique shop for $10.  Its in pretty good shape and I ACTUALLY found an exposed roll of film still in it!  I know film expires after a while, but it looks like its not too old.  I am gonna send it to a lab to see if they can get anything off of it.  Might as well!
The Brownie Reflex was introduced in 1940.  Here is some info on the camera!

Kodak Brownie Starmite Camera
I bought this today at an antique shop for $8.  Its in an OK shape.  It still has a flash bulb in it but fell out as soon as I picked it up so I'm not sure how well it would work!
The Brownie Starmite was introduced in 1960.  Here is some info on the camera!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well thats what I have for now!  I hope to keep adding to this collection!  So if anyone has an old camera laying around they want to get rid of then feel free to send it on over!

Eye Makeup!

I have had quite a few people tell me that they like how I do my eye make-up.  Its only beacause I once wanted to go into cosmetology!  (Yes... one of my MANY, almost career choices!)  So I like to take a look around at photos and video tutorials now and then just to come up with new ideas.  I was looking online at some tutorials for the smokey eye look and found one I like.  She uses Mac and seems to know what she is doing!  Haha.  Check it out... maybe try it out!  I may try it tomorrow... I always get scared trying anything too dramatic, but I think for night-out makeup it would be awesome!  She also has other tutorials on some dramatic looks too... Looks fun!

Tomorrow is...

MY 25th BIRTHDAY!  YIKES!!!

Does someone want to make me this cake?  And maybe also buy me the real thing?! haha.
I sure would like the Canon 5D Mark II!

Just a little birthday wish!

DEXTER!!! (Spoiler Alert!)

It seems as though my most recent TV obsession is Dexter!  I've gotta hand it off to the creators of this show...  You would never think you would actual root for a serial killer!  Or yet alone feel anything for some characters in a TV show... but somehow, they pull it off!  Chris and I find ourselves cheering on Dexter while he is on the hunt to find a bad-guy... You would think Dexter being a serial killer would make him a bad guy, but hes far from it!  Killing the men & women who kill for their own sick pleasures is what drives Dexter to kill... And it is AWESOME! haha.  Adding to it is making him a family man!  He obviously loves his family and wants nothing more to be normal, but he knows he cannot be completely normal.  But I suppose that is what gives the show its excitement and hilarity.  Watching him try to decide what the "human" thing to do is just hilarious...  Michael C. Hall is GREAT as Dexter... Don't think they could have picked someone better! We just finished watching Season 4 on DVD.... I CANNOT believe they killed off Rita!  What the hell is Dexter gonna do with 3 kids?! Haha.  I cant wait to see the next season!  I put up a trailer of the next season just incase you havent seen it yet!  If you haven't finished season 4 don't watch it!  It's a big spoiler (even though I already just spoiled it)!  The new season starts on September 26th!  I will be sitting on the edge of my seat along with ya!

And if you have not yet seen the show I suggest started at season 1 and working your way up!  You will LOVE IT!

Link to Showtime's Dexter site!

ALSO a couple things I DID NOT know before I started watching season 4!
Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan) is married to Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan) in real life!  WEIRD!
Michael C. Hall had cancer (Hodgkin's Lymphoma) at the beginning of the year!  I had no idea!  So glad he is doing better...  Here is a link to an article about his condition.

Ok so I KNOW I am probably way behind on that info... Oh well tho!  See ya later!

Can't sleep...

Been up thinking about everything...  How I always seem to end up in this same position... Jobless and feeling helpless... But I saw this...

"Here is the basic rule for winning success. Let's mark it in the mind and remember it. The rule is: Success depends on the support of other people. The only hurdle between you and what you want to be in is the support of other people."    ~David J. Schwartz

I know I have family and loved ones behind me... They seem to support the decisions I have made, and I know they believe in me to find something better and to better myself.  Just want to tell my family that I love you all and thank you for supporting me and not letting me feel like I AM helpless... and that I can do whatever I set my mind to.  Love you all...

So much has changed!

I noticed it has been about a year since my last post.  I was new to the whole "blogging scene" and honestly... didn't have time to actual post anything!  BUT... so much has changed... its been a busy year... all of a sudden, this month, I am now unemployed!  YET AGAIN!  So... much to my dismay... I now HAVE the time to post an update.  Not that anyone follows this thing... I just think its good to get your thoughts out there... even if no one IS listening!

I have taken a look over my first posts from last year, and it's definitely safe to say most everything has changed... well... just about.  Chris and I are still together... 8 years and counting!  We have been very happy together this past couple of years.  Which is fantastic considering everything we have been through together.  We bought a house in Tucson and moved in a few months ago.  Its been AWESOME owning our own place... but its a lot of freakin' work!  The place needs a lot done to it... paint, flooring, bathrooms, yard... kitchen... just about everything needs a face lift.  The people who lived here before were big do-it-yourselfers... and they SUCKED at it... haha!  The lighting doesn't always work, the tile isn't straight, the paint colors in NO WAY go together, and they crackle painted most of the vent covers and light fixtures... yikes... So we have our work cut out for us!  We have completely torn apart the master bed & bath... so we have been sleeping in the living room!  WOO!  I REALLY hope it gets finished soon... But money is an issue... of course...  It will all work out though... We aren't worried... Just happy to be in our own place again.  I guess that brings up the question that we ALWAYS hear! "When is Chris gonna make an honest woman outta ya?!  Ugh... Not sure why everyone is so worried about that... I'm in no hurry... BUT... it has been discussed... often...  He said "Hey Lyndz... Ring or a house?"  And I chose house! haha.  No need for anyone to worry...  I'm not worried!  And I am very happy...

As for the job situation....  I quit Graphic Design about a semester or two before I completed the degree.  I know... stupid... But I decided it wasn't for me.  I wasn't happy and it already stressed me out in class.  I also saw the work other people were doing, and I felt there are A LOT more talented people in that profession that have so much more passion for it... So I just gave up.  I still love art and photography... I have just figured out that I would rather it be a hobby for me... and that I want to do it for myself and not for other people.  SO... what I did is I signed up for a Veterinary Assistant program!  I completed that at the beginning of this year sometime.  I did an externship at a big emergency vet here in Tucson.  I LOVE it!  I DID end up getting over the whole blood and guts thing!  I have seen MANY interesting things and I absolutely love helping animals.  Plus... it's always nice playing with a cute little puppy now and then...  I am still trying to decide if I want to continue my education in the field... I would like to go back and get a Tech degree... but AGAIN... it costs more money... and its more schooling... so I just don't know right now.  I also would LOVE to be a Veterinarian still... but that is more than 7 years of school and SO much money!  I just don't know if I could handle the stress.  Which also means moving to another state for school since there are no Vet schools in AZ.  I really wish I would have done this right out of high school... Guess its too late for that now!  Anyway... I had a job at a vet clinic, but that didn't end up working out!  So here I am again... on the hunt for a job when barely anyone is hiring... more irritating than anything!  I HATE not being able to help out with money... HATE it... Makes me feel so useless... I have been by about 43 places around town.. barely any were hiring, but most of them got my resume! haha.  There were a few promising ones this last week, so I am hoping I get an interview soon!

I guess the only other big change is that Chris and I got a puppy the middle of last year!  She is an AWESOME dog!  So much personality.... and very cute and playful... just the way we like it.  She is a Boxer/Pit... Named her Maggie.  I will put up a few photos.

Well I guess that is all for now... I think I have rambled on enough...

Maggie about a month after we got her... After swimming!

She like barking at the camera... haha...
